BNP Paribas Securities Services hosted an exclusive event in January at the Vinter's Hall which was a great opportunity for our clients in London to hear and discuss the issues and trends around the industry. Patrick Colle, Head of BP2S UK welcomed clients and introduced the speakers.

Nicolas Bertrand, Head of equity markets & IDEM, from the London Stock Exchange talked about the LSE's current strategy and views on the trading and clearing challenges in European markets. Mark Woodward, Head of business development from ICE Clear Europe Limited talked about the ICE Clear's current focus and development, the benefits of clearing, and the changing political environment.

BP2S was proud to win the Best fund administrator of UCITS Award in Ireland at the FundDomiciles.com event party on January 14, when they announced the winners of their Service Provider Awards for 2009.

BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S) rated well in a Global Custodian Survey of Agent Banks in Emerging Markets.

Global Custodian's highly valued 2009 Agent Banks in Emerging Markets Survey ranks us top-rated in Cyprus. Overall BP2S were the only provider in Cyprus to have both leading and cross border/non-affiliated clients to give us the Top Rated award.

Turkey was awarded a Commended status with a star. One client said " The people of TEB (a BP2S venture in Turkey) are some of the biggest professionals I have met in emerging markets sub-custodians.". BP2S also received positive comments for both Poland and Morocco.

Alan Cameron, Head of Clearing, Settlement and Custody Client Solutions and Mark Downing, Head of UK Investor Solutions Coverage represented BP2S at the awards ceremony held in London on Wednesday 25 November.

The judging criteria set for this year's awards clearly succeeded in testing providers' ability to differentiate themselves and provide the best quality services to clients.

Global Finance has announced the results of its 18th annual survey of "the world's 50 safest banks". BNP Paribas is the safest universal bank providing global custody services and is in the top 10 safest banks in the world. Banks were selected through a comparison of the long-term credit ratings and total assets of the 500 largest banks around the world.

We are also listed as "best sub-custodian for Western Europe". This is awarded on criteria such as quality of service, technology platforms, business continuity plans or knowledge of local regulations and practices.

Securities Services was the only provider to raise its score in this year’s R&M fund accounting and administration survey over 2008. The majority of respondents in this leading survey reported an increase in service levels.  

In an ever changing market, staying close to consultants is key to understanding and meeting our clients’ needs. Our London consultants’ event held in June this year was the ideal opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen our mutual relations with the consultant community.
